A total of 1,574 players registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction. The BCCI has selected 574 players to go under the hammer. This includes 366 Indian players and 208 overseas cricketers. There are also three players from associate nations. Among the uncapped players, 318 are Indian and 12 are from other countries.

A total of 204 slots are available for the 10 IPL teams. This includes 70 overseas slots. Seven Indian players are in the marquee sets. These players are Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Arshdeep Singh.

The highest base price in the auction is ₹2 crore. A total of 81 players have chosen this top bracket.

Mallika Sagar will once again be the auctioneer for IPL 2025. She made history in IPL 2024 by replacing Hugh Edmeades. She broke the long-standing tradition of male auctioneers.

The IPL 2025 mega auction will start shortly after the India vs Australia Test match in Perth. The Test match will begin at 7:50 AM IST and end at 2:50 PM IST. The IPL auction will begin 10 minutes after the Test match finishes.
